Control Volume
Engineering-led research on the physical bottlenecks of AI infrastructure
Control Volume is independent research on the two physical limits on building out AI: datacenter and electronics cooling, and advanced energy (fission and fusion). It is written for investors, engineers, and analysts, and published by Control Volume Research.
What is published
A deep piece every two weeks, each with a model behind it. Every article is free. The models, runnable code with a tagged release for each article, go to paid subscribers. The decisive calculation in every piece is shown inline with its inputs, so the argument can be checked without the model.
The fortnightly piece is never dropped. If a cycle cannot be held, the piece ships smaller rather than late.
What is not published
No price targets, trade calls, daily market commentary, or individual advice. Pieces say what the price implies and name the catalysts and dates; the judgment about what to do with that is the reader’s.
Corrections and positions
Corrections are made in the original piece with a dated note. Positions held by the author and affiliated entities are disclosed at the end of every piece.
